Taiz, Yemen: Healthcare Collapse and Deepening Humanitarian Crisis

El Fadaly News Desk ·

The Yemeni city of Taiz is facing a severe humanitarian and health crisis, with most medical facilities out of service and rising displacement.

The humanitarian situation in Taiz is deteriorating rapidly, as the Medical and Environmental Committee reported that 80% of health facilities have ceased operations.

This collapse is attributed to acute shortages of fuel, essential medical supplies, and staff, with the committee accusing the Houthi group of obstructing the entry of aid and fuel into the city.

Meanwhile, health office data indicates a significant rise in epidemic cases, signaling a potential health catastrophe amid the ongoing siege.

Nationwide, United Nations data reveals that over 313,000 people have been displaced across Yemen since last August, with hundreds of civilian casualties recorded during the same period.

The UN has called for the protection of civilians and essential infrastructure, urging for safe and sustainable humanitarian access to those in need as field conditions continue to worsen.
