Gaza Rains Flood Thousands of Tents, Worsening Displaced People's Suffering

El Fadaly News Desk ·

Heavy rainfall has damaged tens of thousands of tents housing displaced people in the Gaza Strip, raising concerns over a deepening humanitarian crisis as winter begins.

Over the past twelve hours, heavy rains across the Gaza Strip have flooded and damaged seventy thousand tents sheltering displaced individuals in various governorates.

The severe weather conditions caused tent walls to collapse and resulted in injuries among the displaced, who lack basic resources to protect themselves from the cold and rain.

The Gaza Government Media Office estimated the direct financial losses caused by the current weather front at approximately three million dollars.

The Media Office held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for these catastrophic consequences, citing the continued closure of border crossings and the prevention of essential shelter materials from entering the territory.

Displaced families are currently unable to replace their damaged tents or purchase protective supplies, fueling fears of a worsening humanitarian situation as temperatures continue to drop.
