Grossi Urges Tehran to Facilitate Return of IAEA Inspectors
The IAEA Director General emphasizes the need for Iranian cooperation to ensure nuclear transparency, asserting that diplomacy remains the best path for resolution.
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi has stated that diplomacy is the only viable path to prevent nuclear proliferation.
Grossi called on Iran to cooperate in clarifying outstanding issues and to facilitate the return of international inspectors to its nuclear facilities.
He explained that the agency has not received the necessary information required to verify nuclear materials that were previously declared.
The Director General noted that military attacks over the past year have disrupted inspection activities within Iranian facilities.
Grossi highlighted that the Cairo Agreement, signed in September 2025, represents a practical approach to addressing ongoing security concerns.
He further emphasized that Iran's obligations under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement cannot be suspended unilaterally.
