Political Disputes Hinder Israeli Government Formation Efforts

El Fadaly News Desk ·

Efforts to form a new Israeli government are facing internal obstacles due to conflicting positions among opposition parties.

The process of forming a new government in Israel is currently stalled as neither political camp has secured a clear parliamentary majority.

Ahmad Tibi stated that the conditions set by Avigdor Lieberman are impeding Gadi Eisenkot's efforts to gather the necessary votes within the Knesset.

The core of the disagreement lies in the inclusion of Arab parties; Lieberman opposes their participation in the upcoming government, whereas Yair Golan supports forming an alliance with them.

Election results show that Eisenkot's camp holds 48 seats, while Benjamin Netanyahu's camp holds 53, leaving both short of the 61-seat threshold required to govern.

Opposition parties have pledged to continue their efforts to resolve these differences and establish a governing coalition as quickly as possible.
