US Warns Citizens in the Middle East of Potential Security Threats

El Fadaly News Desk ·

The US Department of State has urged citizens across the Middle East to exercise caution, citing risks of armed attacks and Iranian-backed threats.

The US Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has issued a security alert for American citizens in the Middle East, advising them to maintain a high level of vigilance.

The State Department highlighted the risk of potential armed attacks, pointing to threats posed by the Iran-backed Houthi group and ongoing Iranian efforts to target US officials and interests abroad.

Authorities warned that travelers may face disruptions to air travel, including potential airspace closures, which could impact regional transit.

Citizens have been strongly advised to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive emergency updates and ensure they can be reached during crises.

The embassy further urged individuals to avoid large gatherings and areas with a heavy security presence, while emphasizing the importance of monitoring local media and strictly following instructions from local authorities.
