El Fadaly News Desk ·

A collision between two trains in the Al-Ayyat area of Giza has resulted in dozens of injuries and disrupted rail traffic on the Cairo-Upper Egypt line.

A train collision occurred on Sunday morning in the Al-Ayyat region of Giza, involving a 'Tahya Misr' train bound for Fayoum and the rear of a Cairo-Aswan train.

The impact caused several carriages to derail, prompting emergency teams and heavy machinery to clear the tracks and work toward restoring rail traffic in both directions.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health reported that 64 individuals sustained injuries in the incident. All victims have been transported to local hospitals to receive necessary medical care.

The Egyptian National Railways authority is currently engaged in field operations to address the damage and resume normal train schedules as quickly as possible.

As of now, there have been no official reports of any fatalities resulting from the collision.
