Trump Orders Investigation into Democrats Over Alleged Threats
U.S. President Donald Trump has directed the Justice Department to investigate Democratic members, accusing them of threatening individuals with accountability and punishment.
U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Justice to launch investigations into several Democratic politicians, characterizing their recent actions as criminal behavior.
The directive follows the midterm elections, which resulted in the Democrats gaining control of Congress. Trump accused party members of sending threatening messages to individuals he described as innocent.
In his statement, the President specifically mentioned Senator Elissa Slotkin, citing her proposal to investigate administration officials.
Slotkin denied the allegations, labeling them as manufactured outrage. She maintained that accountability should be reserved strictly for those who violate the law.
These events mark an escalation in political tensions in Washington as the new Congress prepares to assume its duties this coming January.
