The American Heart Association recommends that most adults get 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, emphasizing the importance of consistent bedtimes and wake-up times to maintain the body's circadian rhythm.

A report published by 'EatingWell' explains that the body undergoes a 'nocturnal dip' in blood pressure during sleep—a natural drop of 10-20%—which helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

While a 2021 British study suggested a link between falling asleep between 10:00 PM and 10:59 PM and lower heart disease risk, researchers emphasize that the priority remains establishing a consistent schedule that fits an individual's daily routine, including weekends.

To improve rest quality, experts advise creating a quiet, dark sleep environment, limiting screen time and caffeine intake before bed, and staying physically active during the day. Medical evaluation is recommended for persistent snoring or sleep apnea symptoms.
